What makes your neighborhood special? Showcase the reasons for your neighborhood pride and you may be awarded a grant of up to $1,000! Deadline is 4 p.m. on December 16, 2016.

2016 Winners
  • African American Visual Artists Guild (AAVAG): Exposition Through Art - A new, ongoing program that gives homage to ideas, places and facts that have built and are building positive cultural perspectives for coming generations of African Americans.
  • McCook Field Neighborhood: Summer Reading Under the Winnie the Pooh Tree - A summer reading program that includes sending books home with children.
  • Twin Towers Neighborhood Association: The East Dayton Easter Egg Hunt - A spring activity that includes entertainment, food and cultural crafts, and an Easter egg hunt.

Established Through Donations

The fund was established through donations made at a community celebration held in January 2014, following Mayor Whaley’s election. Successful applicants must be IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations or must apply through a suitable fiscal agent. Funding applications will be reviewed by a selection committee of community volunteers and ranked on criteria. The Dayton Mayor’s Fund is administered by The Dayton Foundation.
