Survey: Broadband in Dayton

connect ohio logo

Connect Ohio has selected Dayton to participate in its Connected Community Engagement Program. The City will receive a comprehensive technology assessment and innovative project plan to enhance the community's technology standing in today’s digital economy. The award is part of Connect Ohio’s
funding from the state of Ohio to continue advancing broadband access, adoption, and use for all Ohioans.

WHO is involved?

Through the leadership of the City of Dayton, our community is participating in Connect Ohio’s Connected Community Engagement program. This project will assess the current status of broadband access, adoption, and use in our area so we can develop a broadband Technology Action Plan to improve the quality of life and economic potential throughout the city of Dayton and the Dayton region.

WHAT is being done?

To perform an assessment of the city of Dayton’s current broadband environment, the Committee will be conducting surveys of local residents, businesses, and other organizations across the county.  Responses to these surveys will help us better understand the existing resources and capabilities we now have to support our access, adoption, and use of broadband technology in our homes and businesses.  After a structured evaluation of this assessment, we’ll then develop appropriate action plans and projects to improve our broadband environment most effectively.

WHEN will this take place?

Our Community Broadband Assessment and related surveys will be launched in February and continue into May.  Results from this work will be shared with the public later this spring, followed by additional work to develop a county-wide Technology Action Plan to address identified areas of need.
