Fire Department - Request for Public Education and Presentations

  1. The Dayton Fire Department provides personnel and fire apparatus to attend community events free of charge. We are only able to provide two fire apparatus per day, on a first come, first served basis. Fire vehicles can only be on site at an event for a maximum of two hours. All special event appearances are subject to cancellation or sudden departure without notice due to emergencies. Please ensure there is sufficient space for not only parking and participating at the event, but also an immediate means of departure should an emergency occur that requires the apparatus's attention.

  2. IMPORTANT (PLEASE READ):*

    A minimum of two (2) weeks prior notice is required when requesting Dayton Fire Department participation, public education presentations and appearances, and all requests for fire apparatus (i.e. fire truck, fire engine, ambulance) are limited to a maximum of two (2) hours per event.

  3. Service You Are Requesting:*

    Please choose which of the following you'd like the Fire Department to provide for this event.

  4. Please upload any flier that promotes the event, if applicable.

  6. In order to assist us in better serving you, please be specific. If you prefer a specific Firehouse for a tour, a specific topic you’d like included in a presentation, wish to provide further explanation regarding your event, or just important details you feel we should be aware of, please include that information here.

  7. The Dayton Fire Department, when possible, gladly attends/participates in non-profit community events (i.e. festivals, health and safety fairs, summer camps, school presentations, etc.), but as a general rule we do not attend events which appear to utilize the Dayton Fire Department as a cause supporting, money making, membership generating, or otherwise as an endorsement or marketing instrument. For safety purposes, all information provided in this form will be subject to verification. In the event a scheduling conflict prohibiting the DFD from attending your event occurs, you will notified at the earliest possible time (where possible). Likewise, if you need to cancel and/or reschedule, please notify us with as much advance notice possible. Submission of this application does NOT guarantee or confirm an apparatus & crew will be at your event. If the date of your event is available AND we are able to attend, you will be notified via email. This application is NOT to hire committed Fire Safety and/or Medical Safety personnel to provide emergency coverage for an event, or for the duration of any event.
