The City of Dayton sweeps more than 12,000 miles of streets from February through October, and mows vacant lands throughout the city, generally from May through October. Both schedules may be affected by weather.

Street Sweeping

Residential streets are swept twice annually, thoroughfares are swept six times annually, expressways are swept three times annually and the Central Business District is swept each weeknight. The following neighborhoods will be swept the week of August 17, 2015, weather permitting:  

  • Greenwich Village
  • Wesleyan
  • Northern Hills
  • Philadelphia Woods
  • Fairview
  • Hillcrest

Vacant Land

Mowing will occur in the following neighborhoods the week of August 17, 2015, weather permitting:   

  • Southern Dayton View
  • University Row
  • Princeton Heights
  • Dayton View Triangle
  • Cornell Heights
