SERVICE DAYS FOR TRASH/RECYCLING/BULK WASTE (city of Dayton only)
Trash is collected Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday based on your zone, with the exception of weeks containing a holiday. All waste collection services will then be moved to the following day; please see our holiday schedule for which days are affected by holidays.
Recycling is collected every-other week on the same day as trash collection, based on your zone. To obtain a FREE 95-gallon blue City of Dayton recycling container, please call 937-333-4800, and one will be scheduled for delivery. All recyclable materials must be loosely placed inside the blue 95-gallon recycle container. Please consult the Recycle Right reference guide for items that are and are not accepted.
All bulk waste collections must be scheduled in advance and will be collected one Friday monthly, based on your zone. You must call no later than the Wednesday before your normal bulk collection day to schedule this service. Call 937-333-4800. Bulk items are those other than normal household trash including, but not limited to, appliances, furniture, and any other items which cannot be safely and conveniently loaded into a solid waste transportation vehicle or that do not fit into your waste container. Please refer to our Bulk Waste Collection page for items that are and are not accepted as bulk waste.
To see your collection days for trash, recycling, and bulk waste, please see the collection calendars below or use the Dayton Collects app. Please see Waste, Recycling, and Bulk Guidelines for information and tips on your services.
Holidays: Trash and recycling are not collected on holidays. On weeks containing a holiday, waste collection service will be moved back one day following the holiday. Please see our holiday schedule for which days trash and recycling will not be collected.
