What would happen if you turned on the faucet, but nothing came out? What if fire hydrants, toilets and other basic tools we take for granted all of a sudden stopped working? Imagine a day without water.
As recent events across the nation and the Midwest underscore the fundamental value of water, the City of Dayton Department of Water encourages residents to learn more about the natural resources and public infrastructure that makes safe, clean water readily available in their homes and the community at large.
The Department of Water continues to invest in public infrastructure through its 10-year capital improvement plan. By upgrading and replacing aging water systems, we are working to ensure our residents, businesses and visitors will never have to turn their imagined day without water into a reality.
Now in its second year, “Imagine a Day Without Water” is a national public awareness campaign produced by the Value of Water Coalition. Learn more at imagineadaywithoutwater.org.
