[ARCHIVED] Firefighters Deliver Pizza to Raise Awareness for Fire Prevention Week

As a precursor to their Fire Prevention Week Open House, the Dayton Fire Department will help Domino's Pizza deliver pizzas in the city of Dayton during the evenings of October 7 and 8.

Firefighters will be offering to check customers' smoke alarms as they deliver their orders. They will also install new alarms where needed and requested. They will also provide information on the department's upcoming Open House, a free and family-friendly event on Saturday, October 15.

Fire Prevention Week 2016 runs from October 9 through 15. This year’s campaign, “Don’t Wait – Check the Date! Replace Smoke Alarms Every 10 Years,” represents the final year of the National Fire Protection Association's three-year effort to educate the public about basic but essential elements of smoke alarm safety.
