During the holiday season, Dayton Police Department parking enforcement aides will occasionally give out something other than parking tickets in the central business district.
On
several days in December, aides will place a seasonal warning note on the windshield
of those committing minor parking violations. The card thanks drivers for
visiting downtown, points out that the driver is in violation of a parking
ordinance and asks the driver to adhere to that parking law during future
downtown visits.
The
card also points out that there are parking garages and surface lots available
for extended visits and offers reminders to keep valuables out of sight and
vehicles locked.
The days when holiday parking warnings will be distributed will not be
announced in advance.
