More… This is a 12 week, hands-on, interactive experience where you will learn police techniques, complete a community safety project, and practice problem solving skills officers use to resolve conflicts. There will also be an opportunity for students to learn and participate in mock scenarios including traffic stops, evidence collection, and building searches. The Citizens Academy is limited to 20-25 people and participants do have to pass a basic background check. Classes will begin on August 26 and run for 12 weeks.
