The Traffic Services Unit (TSU) is primarily responsible for enforcing traffic and parking violations within the City of Dayton and the State of Ohio.

The Traffic Services Unit follows up on complaints from citizens regarding parking, speed, and any other traffic-related violations. The Traffic Services Unit’s other specialized functions include Traffic Crash Reconstruction, Hit and Runs, OVI enforcement and investigations, and Photo Enforcement. Traffic Crash Reconstruction investigates fatal crashes and serious injury or felony accidents. In addition, they support all officer requests for crash analysis, evaluate equipment requisitions, and assist in criminal investigations involving motor vehicles.

The Traffic Bureau is also responsible for coordinating traffic control for special events throughout the city.
