West Dayton Transportation Project Details

  1. West Third Street Reconstruction (PID 116966)
    Construction Starting in Spring of 2027
    • From Gettysburg Avenue to Almond Avenue.
    • Roadway will be reduced from five lanes to three lanes.
    • Complete reconstruction with new pavement, curb, walk and street lighting.
    • Multi-Use Path will be installed on north side.
    • Traffic signals will be removed at Westown Shopping Center and Elmhurst Road.
  2. West Third Street Safety Improvements (PID 123410)
    Construction Starting Fall of 2027
    • From James H. McGee Blvd to Abbey Avenue.
    • Roadway will be reduced from five lanes to three lanes.
    • Project will install a two-way cycle track.
    • Curb extensions will be added at selected corners.
    • Raised crosswalk will be added at selected locations.
    • Traffic Signal will be removed at Young Avenue.
  3. West Third Street Cycle Track Phase 2 (PID 121618)
    Construction Starting Spring of 2029
    • From Broadway Avenue to James H. McGee Blvd.
    • Roadway will be reduced from five lanes to three lanes.
    • Project will install a two-way cycle track.
  4. West Third Street Cycle Track Phase 3 (PID 123893)
    Construction Starting Spring of 2030
    • From Abbey Avenue to Plaza Avenue
    • Roadway will be reduced from five lanes to three lanes.
    • Project will install a two-way cycle track.
  5. Gettysburg Avenue Reconstruction Phase 3 (PID 119366)
    Construction Starting Spring of 2028
    • From West Second Street to Hoover Avenue
    • Complete reconstruction with new pavement, curb, walk and street lighting.
    • Lane widths will be narrowed from 12’ to 11’.
    • Multi-Use Path will be installed on west side.
    • Traffic signal will be removed at Oakridge Drive.
  6. Gettysburg Avenue Reconstruction Phase 4 (PID 121626)
    Construction Starting Spring of 2029
    • From Hoover Avenue to Gardendale Avenue.
    • Complete reconstruction with new pavement, curb, walk and street lighting.
    • Lane widths will be narrowed from 12’ to 11’.
    • Multi-Use Path will be installed on west side.
